Dynamic HCT is aware of recent information circulating in the media as well as the availability of flu shots at commercial pharmacies.
It is very important to get your flu vaccine this season especially as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic. CDC recommends getting your flu shot at least 2 weeks before the start of flu season in October (ideally in September). Please see the statement below about getting the flu shot too early which may result in reduced immunity near the end of the flu season.
CDC recommends that people get a flu vaccine by the end of October. Getting vaccinated later, however, can still be beneficial and vaccination should continue to be offered throughout the flu season, even into January or later.
Getting vaccinated early (for example, in July or August) could be associated with reduced protection against flu infection later in the flu season, particularly among older adults.
The state is currently vaccinating phase 1B.3, meaning residents age 60 and older, frontline essential workers in grocery and agriculture, and people 16-59 with 2 or more high risk conditions. The state estimates that it will be able to vaccinate the general public by the summer. Please click on "Learn More" for vaccine providers and distribution centers.
